Prepare before the attack

The official game loop escalates from customer investigation to barricading doors, laying traps, and hiding if a creature gets away. Preparation is strongest when the team already knows its routes.

  1. Clear ordinary store work from key walkways.
  2. Identify doors and likely movement lanes.
  3. Choose a fallback route and hiding option.
  4. Assign one player to call placements in co-op.
  5. Place defenses without trapping teammates on the wrong side.

Placement questions

Before using a trap, ask:

  • What route is this intended to control?
  • Can the team still pass safely?
  • Can the effect be observed from a defensible position?
  • Is the trap protecting an objective or merely sitting near one?
  • What is the fallback if it fails?

Entity Warning: The store pages do not claim that every monster can be stopped by every trap. Treat universal matchup charts without build-specific testing as unreliable.

Verification policy

Named trap pages will record acquisition, placement limits, activation behavior, observed entity interaction, reset/reuse behavior, and current build. Until those tests are complete, this page avoids invented stats and ranked tier lists.

Steam also names exclusive traps among the content planned for the free Endless Mode update. Those are future-mode records, not confirmed launch inventory; see the Endless Mode roadmap for the current boundary.

Pair defensive preparation with the customer protocol so fewer shifts reach the siege phase unnecessarily.
